It was my pleasure giving some of the best care possible to Steven and giving added help to you as a Family at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Amidst pain and discomfort, Steven showed strength and resilience through his journey. 
The support that you the family members gave not forgetting Bella was unmatched and won’t be forgotten. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Continue the love you have for each other.

It was a privilege being one of Steve’s “OG nurses.” Steve held on to his humor, kindness and resilience as he faced each battle. I will always remember the time he danced in bed, the night the iconic “Steve’s phrases” list was created, and how he would make me and Bella laugh all the time. He was truly a gem to be around and take care of. 

Steve had such a beautiful and loving community around him. It’s clear that he left a special mark on everyone he met. He was never alone, someone (but often, many people) was always by his side day and night. His family and girlfriend fought by him and took such loving and fierce care of him.

It was a pleasure meeting the Patterson family. They did everything right and everything they could for Steve. Bella and Steve’s love was one in a million. She was his biggest advocate. They made us all believe in love. 

Steve, you fought hard. You never gave up. You will be truly missed.

Steven was a dedicated athlete and student who always went the distance to be his best. By example,  he was an inspiration to his coaches and teammate's . I was honored to share our championship win with Steven in which he played a major role in the team's success. I will cherish the fond memories I have of his exceptional play and sportsmanship throughout his years as a Baruch Bearcat. He touched many lives and will always be remembered. I offer my deepest condolences and pray the support that surrounds you will give you strength at this difficult time.

Steven, I loved you like a son.
I am so proud  of  his accomplishments.  The last couple of years, after we would end our visits with each other, Steve would say “Good bye Uncle Mike, I love you”,  with a hug.  I would reply back “I love you “.  I am so glad to have been involved in his life to witness him become a mature man.  The last couple of years  had magnified his love for life,  family, friends, and his precious girlfriend.  I thank her for giving him that man to women experience, as friends and lovers.

Wanted to send my condolences. I didn’t know Steve long but knew him long enough to know what amazing and warm hearted man he was. Always made the St Joseph’s team happy having him around at practice. Rest in peace Steve you will be loved and missed dearly❤️❤️

To the Patterson family, 

I can’t put my sympathy for your family into words. Steve was one of the first people I met coming into Baruch and he made the transition from leaving my friends and family behind so much easier. The few years I knew stevey, I could tell that whatever situation he was put in, there was nothing stopping him from achieving his goals. His energy was unmatched and to be in his presence was a blessing.  I hope that his family finds peace in knowing that they raised a young man many people aspire to become. He no longer suffers in pain but rests with our Heavenly Father in peace. I ask all who read this and wonder why a young man who was nothing short of spectacular in all aspects of life was taken too soon not to question our lords plans or actions for as long as we walk this earth we will not understand but have faith that one day it will all make sense. Jesus said Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. Jesus knew that his time here was no longer needed, that his job was complete. Rest in peace stevey. I love you buddy.

It is with a terribly saddened heart that I am wishing my condolences to the Patterson Family. I had the privilege of coaching Stevie in baseball for several years throughout High School.  Stevie was always prepared to play, thrilled to be on a ball field, beyond respectful to all coaches, teammates, and umpires, and an absolute joy to be around. He was the type of person that led by example and I would have taken an entire team of him. He will be deeply missed and the fond memories will live forever.  May you rest in peace Stevie.

To the Patterson Family, 

I want to extend my deepest condolences for your loss. Steven was an exemplary human being, he lit up every room with his smile and always carried himself with a positive attitude. Being his roommate for my freshman year of college, I witnessed first hand how good of a person he was. His outgoing and friendly personality made the beginning of my collegiate journey easier and I can’t thank him enough for that. His work ethic was unmatched whether it was in the classroom, on the baseball field, or in everyday personal life, he always found a way to better himself and those around him. He always reminded us about how much he loved his family, his girlfriend, his friends and his dogs. There wasn’t a selfish bone in his body and he always battled when times got tough, while never losing his smile. Steven was the definition of a fighter and it was an honor to know him for these last 5 years. The impact he left on myself and others will stay apart of our lives forever.  May he rest in peace.

Our dearest Steven, I am so sorry this is how it all happened. We had so many goals and dreams when we were little and even know as adults, you definitely accomplished a lot of them. I remember going to your house almost every day since you guys moved here. You ALWAYS had the biggest smile on your face and were always laughing at something. I’ve never seen someone radiate so much positivity, love, and happiness. I am so grateful I got the privilege to know you most of my life and I have a multitude of memories with you and your family. I will be forever grateful for those and I’ll continue to share your stories. Jill and I used to torture you to sing karaoke with us or play GTA 5, the memories are endless. My condolences to the whole Patterson family, friends, and Bella. You guys took care of him so well, he without a doubt knew how loved he was because you guys couldn’t have physically loved him any harder. And to Jillian, my forever friend, I am here for you always, I’m only a phone call or drive away and I’ll be there in a heartbeat. I love you all so much. May we meet again in another lifetime Steve❤️.
