Margaret grew up on the Upper West Side. She attended Ascension School and graduated from St Joseph’s Cathedral in the West Village, Manhattan. Upon graduation she entered religious life and was educated in the Seminary graduating with a bachelor’s degree. She taught 1st grade and had a great passion for education and helping others. Subsequently, she worked for Helmsley Enterprises as a lead bookkeeper overseeing multiple properties. After meeting on a blind date, Margaret married Tom on November 11, 1967. After many years of raising her children, she returned to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield until her retirement.
Margaret lived with great passion for her family, loved Irish music and plays, volunteering for Church causes, and always putting her family’s needs before her own. She lived for her family and enjoyed every life event that happened, school events and concerts, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and was a huge fan of the NY Rangers and NY Yankees, never missing a game.
Always in our hearts, we know she will be watching over us, encouraging and cheering us on. Margaret will be missed, but never forgotten.
The Sheridan family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Stony Brook Hospital for their care and compassion.
