Warren B. Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully December 31, 2017. He was born May 15, 1928 in Milford, Utah to Bert Charles and Elizabeth (Bessie) Booth Davis. Warren moved to Salt Lake City with his mother and sister when he was six years old. He was taught the value of hard work from his mother at an early age. He worked several jobs to help support the family. While in High School he enjoyed playing sports, and he graduated from East High School in 1947. After attending the University of Utah for two years, Warren left school to work full-time to earn the funds to serve a mission for the LDS church. In 1950, he was called to serve in the British Mission, serving the entire two years in Scotland. He married Marjorie Watkins in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 30, 1953. Shortly after their marriage, Warren was drafted into the army and they moved to Fort Ord, CA where he served for two years in the U.S. Army 6th Infantry Division. Upon their return to Salt Lake, Warren graduated from the University of Utah in 1956.
Warren worked as an Investment Advisor for over 40 years and successfully ran his own company, First Financial Programs. He spent countless hours serving in various capacities in the community and led a life full of service. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a bishop twice, high counselor, and mission president. He presided over the England Leeds Mission from 1981-1984, which was one of the highlights of his life. He had an unwavering testimony of the Gospel, and served faithfully in each calling. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service. Of all of his many accomplishments, his greatest joy was his family. He and Marge were blessed with 5 wonderful children, Steven (Karen), Mark (Kelly), Susan (Mark) Woffinden, Brett (Bonnie), Carol (Troy) Nielsen. They have 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Warren leaves a wonderful legacy for us to build upon. We love him and will miss him, but his memory of a life well lived will remain in our hearts forever. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, LouDeen Davis Jensen.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff of the BeeHive Homes of East Millcreek, and to Millcreek Hospice for their loving care and compassionate service to Warren and our family over the last year.
