1923-2018
Our sweet Mom/Nan passed away on Christmas Eve morning, 2018, after an evening being surrounded by her loved ones, singing with her and expressing our love to her at our annual Post Family Caroling Party. Mom was born on August 3rd, 1923, to Victor Dee Cram and Emily Isabella Rasband in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was active in sports and was a catcher for two semi-pro fastpitch softball teams, the White Stars and the Lucky 13. Mom attended Granite High School where she was co-editor of the school newspaper, Senior Class Vice President and Valedictorian at graduation. Mom was one of ten children. She met our dad, William Allsworth Post, at his dad’s store on 1700 South and Main in Salt Lake. They courted and fell in love, marrying on May 28th, 1941, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple with 4 kids in tow. Through every challenge they faced, Mom always made the best of the situation. Music was always an important part of the Post house. Mom loved to sing, play the piano, play games, chauffeur kids to every conceivable game (mostly basketball), watch sports, cheer for the Jazz and get frustrated when they lose! Mom always had a twinkle in her eye and was the most positive person you’d ever meet. She was a second Mom to every friend that we brought home, feeding them applesauce and chocolate surprise cookies and hamburger stew on game days. Mom loved the Savior and served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including Primary chorister and Relief Society homemaking leader. She worked at Continental Bank, Twirl Town Toys and Primary Children’s Hospital in dietary services. But mom always said her most important work was as a Mom, Homemaker and Caregiver. Mom is survived by 6 of her 8 children, Sally (Ed) Lindquist, Bill (Percy), Buck (Helen), Tom (Heidi), Cindy (Gordon) Rosser, Joe (Karen), 2 daughters in law, Syd Post-Heald and Janie Wright, and 35 grandchildren, 48 great and 7 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents, siblings Ray, Heber, Mark, Joy, Dale, Rea, Lorna, Lois and Victor, and sons Harry and John. Special thanks to Tom and Heidi for the love you have given Mom for the past 30+ years! Mom always said, “Make it a Good One” and when it was time to part company, she would have us say “so-long”,
not good-bye. Good bye was too permanent.
We love you Mom/Nan
So-long…
