1935-2011
Raymond Uyeda was born on November 20, 1935 to Harry Hisashi Uyeda and Shizuko Osako Uyeda. He graduated from Tooele High school and later married Yuri Shiba on October 26, 1957 in Elko Nevada. They spent 54 wonderful years together. Raymond was a kidney recipient of 40 years. He also worked at Palace Meat Company for 40 years. He loved sports, swimming, water skiing, bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, and in his later years one of his favorite things to do was to go to Wendover. He loved to get together with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Yuri of 54 years, his children Dianne (Jim) Uno, Linda (Tim) O Connor, Janice Oike, Kathy Uyeda (Chun Yoon), and son Richard (Danni) Uyeda; 13 grandchildren; brother George of Rancho Bernardo CA and sister Virginia Fushimi of Dayton OH.
Prededed in death by his parents and brother Roy.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 16, 2011 12:00 noon at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call Thursday night, Sept. 15, from 6- 8:00 pm, and on day of funeral, Sept. 16, from 11:00 to 11:45 am. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
His family would like to thank the staff in the Royal Grove Section of the Woodland Park Care Center, especially Tea and Dio.
