2024, with her loving husband Emmanuel “Mike” by her side. Born on August 5, 1943, Marjorie “Margie” was known for her vibrant spirit, exceptional culinary talent, gardening and enduring love for her family and friends.
A graduate of Granite High School, Margie continued her education at Steven Henager's Business College. Her career was as diverse as her interests, spanning from a successful entrepreneur to Delicatessen Manager at Harmons Neighborhood Grocery Store. Along with her husband, she owned and managed Mike's Trophy Room Lounge at the Bonwood Bowling Alley, PJ’s Nightclub, and together with her brother-in-law Mitch Manousakis (deceased) owned and managed the Touch of Athens Greek Restaurant.
A devout member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Margie’s faith and community played a significant role in her life. Margie’s personality was marked by her great sense of humor and loyalty. She was a beacon of joy and support, always ready with a humorous quip or a comforting embrace. Her favorite saying, "You have to laugh to keep from crying," perfectly encapsulates her approach to life's challenges with positivity and resilience.
Margie’s passions included a love for Elvis, Corvettes, and cheering on her Utes and Utah Jazz. She loved sports and even participated in automobile racing and modeling, earning the title of Miss Flame of South Salt Lake.
Margie is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Emmanuel "Mike" Manousakis, brother, Grant Charles Heinhold and his wife DeLayne, sister, Glenna Cobridge, stepson, Michael Manousakis (fiancée Kimberli Thomas), grandchildren, Christian Manousakis (fiancée Shelby Robertson), Adam Manousakis (Annette Ford), and Godparents, Deno and Mary Kambouris; many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Glen Heinhold and brother, Gary Heinhold.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Ashley Mack from Quality Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care and support she provided and for being by Margie’s side throughout her illness.
The Viewing and Trisagion will be held on Friday, October 11th,10:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margie’s name may be made in her honor to the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake.
Margie’s legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
