John Howard Willie passed away on February 24, 2023, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 85. John was born on February 20, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Robert and Constance (Gunnarson) Willie. He attended Olympus High School and earned his B.A. degree from the University of Utah in 1961 where he was a member/magister of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. On December 20, 1969, he married Jackie Lee Myers. They raised three children, Heather Jennifer Willie, John Robert Willie, and Matthew Howard Willie (d.1995). John spent his career in the advertising industry, holding senior-level positions at several prominent advertising agencies. He was a creative, talented artist; expert skier; and adventurer with a zest and enthusiasm for life. His positive attitude and sense of humor were ever present. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his wife Jackie; his two children, Heather Willie McHugh and John Robert Willie; his sister, Judith Willie Lyon; grandchildren, Colin McHugh, Kailyn McHugh, Michael McHugh, Mateo Willie, and Riley Ann Virtue; nephew, Michael Bridge; and son-in-law, Kevin McHugh. A private family service was held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Cemetery on March 3, 2023.
