John Giles Oglesby, 84, passed away July 1, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born May 3, 1934 to John George and Ione Giles Oglesby in Salt Lake City. He graduated from West High School, and then served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Sharon Price (later divorced), together they had four children. Giles then met and married Bonnie Kay Sutherland on August 24, 1963. To whom he was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had and raised two sons. Giles worked at IBM for 27 years, and then worked for the Utah State Board of Education for 5 years before retiring.
Giles was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings.
He loved spending time with his family, camping and fishing.
Giles is survived by his wife of 54 years Bonnie Kay, his sons John (Amy), Bill (Jackie), six grandchildren, and sister Ann. Proceeded in death by: His parents, and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018, 11:00 am at the Olympus Stake Center 2675 East 4430 South in Holladay, where viewings will be held Thursday, July 12, 6-8 pm and again prior to services from 10-10:45 am.
Interment will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah
The family would like to thank the staff at The Abbington Care Center in Holladay for the tender care and support they gave Giles.
