JoAnne Chidester Ford, 84, was called home on February 2, 2015 and took a piece of our hearts with her. We tried our best to keep her here, but her weak lungs gave out. She was born March 7, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon and Leah Ence Chidester. JoAnne was a generous and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in music. She married Lyle S Ford on August 28, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. JoAnne and Lyle loved to travel the world with their friends, Cal and Diane Workman. JoAnne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. She especially loved the Primary where she served as a Stake Primary President and played the piano for singing time into her eighties. We mourn our loss, but celebrate with peace and joy that she was able to leave behind her pain and struggles and be reunited with her beloved husband, Lyle, and her parents.
JoAnne is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, and her parents. She is survived by her two daughters, Lori Ririe (Kent) and Tracy Barnett (Chris); grandchildren: Shauna Phillips (Roger), Diana Hobbs (Jason), Sam Barnett, and Jared Ririe (Cailey); great grandchildren: Corbyn Phillips, Blake Hobbs, Peyton Phillips and Skyler Hobbs; sister Dorothy Egan.
