Gary Stollerman was born on September 19, 1948 to Faye and Aaron Stollerman in New York, New York. He is survived by his brother Neal, daughter Kerri Constantine (husband Ryan), grandsons Harrison and Nathan, son Benjamin Stollerman (wife Danielle) and grandsons, Remy and Rory. Gary left New York as a young man for the blue skies and mountains of Colorado, where he married and had Kerri and Ben. He lived most of his life in Utah, cherishing the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Dad, had a second, albeit unpaid, career as sports commentator. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of all things sports, particularly when it came to his beloved New York Mets, Denver Broncos, the Utah Jazz, and of course any team that any of his grandsons played on. He loved to laugh almost as much as he enjoyed making others laugh. He prided himself on his dry wit. He was young at heart, thoroughly enjoying a new found love of fitness, driving his sports car, and strumming away on any number of prized guitars from his carefully curated collection. He was happy with the simple life - good food, good books, good music and most importantly great family, he wanted nothing more in this world.
Dad loved regaling us with stories from his childhood. We take comfort in having been given a similar gift - a childhood so delightful we’ll be able to share treasured memories of our fun loving, generous and gentle dad for our lifetimes. Dad, you’re our hero. We wish we had more time, but anything short of always would simply not be enough. We will love you forever.
“You want to be good for the ones you love, because you know that your time with them will end up being too short, no matter how long it is.”
•Stephen King, one of his favorite authors.
