Emily Anne Cremona Norton, 92, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born and raised in Yonkers, New York to Irene DiCiccio and Frank Cremona. Before calling Park City, Utah, her home, Emily spent most of her life in Greenwich, Connecticut and Larchmont New York.
Emily was married to Edward Louden III of New York City for 58 years before his death in 2017. Emily is survived by her brother and sister in-law, John and Judy Cremona, daughter, Emily Norton Elliott and son-in-law Craig Elliott, son, Edward Louden Norton, IV and daughter-in-law Sylvia Norton. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Emily Judith Elliott, Mitchell Elliott, Edward Louden Norton V and Meredith Norton.
Emily believed in education and attended secretarial school after high school graduation in Yonkers and worked for The New York Times. After getting married and having children, she attended college at The University of Connecticut and graduated with honors in speech and dramatic arts from Iona College in 1976.
Emily loved the theater and was a member of Actors’ Equity Association for 15 years. She was also a member of the stage manager’s association and worked many years with the Harrison and Elmsford players in New York managing many shows.
She also loved music and sang soprano from professional events in New York to the church choir at Park City Community Church.
She grew up rollerskating and was very competitive in rollerskating dance where her and her partner would win many competitions in New York and New Jersey.
Sports were her favorite form of entertainment and she would tune in to watch her favorite NFL quarterbacks and loudly cheer for the NBA Utah Jazz while attending many home games.
Emily loved to joke to make people laugh. She always wanted to make new friends and made it a point to remember people’s names so that they would feel appreciated and loved. She went out of her way to help people and she loved animals and always supported animal causes.
The family would like to thank The Ridge at Foothill, The Abbington and Bristol Hospice for the love and care they provided for her.
Gravesite burial services will be Saturday, August 26th at 2pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery at East 233rd St. and Webster Ave., Bronx, NY.
