Diane’s greatest love of her life was her family and her husband. Together with her husband they founded Service Blueprint Reprographics which evolved into SBR Technologies. She enjoyed hosting social events for any occasion. Diane had a large core circle of lifelong friends, some since grade school. Diane was an ardent Utah Jazz fan and thoroughly enjoyed sharing the games with family and friends. Robert and Diane loved traveling the country in their motorhome and visiting many foreign countries. Diane was delighted and deeply cherished surprise visits from family and friends. Fully dedicated to the cause, Diane loved helping Cystic Fibrosis patients at the University Clinic and kept abreast of all the latest research.
Everyone Diane met was a friend. Diane genuinely welcomed you each time with grace, kindness and an individuality that was her hallmark. She was the grandmother to those that never knew such an embracing spirit, was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Diane was born May 19th, 1933 in Salt Lake City to Charles Staker and Lela Hall Stephens, and graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City. Then in 1952 she married Robert Ned Shupe on August 19th in Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death and now reunited with her son Charles Douglas Shupe.
Diane is survived by her husband Robert Ned, her sister Sharon Lee Coons (John), her brother Michael David Stephens, and her children David Stephen (Taryl), Martin Wesley (Connie), and Kathryn. Her grandchildren, Christian Anthony Shupe, Jessica Shupe, Sarah Eleida Shupe (Elling), Samuel Williams Shupe (Maresa), Brett Bangerter (Misty), Cherokee Kartchner, Kelli Dupaix (Adam), Marc Robert Elliott (Jennifer), Preston Charles Longley and twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive SLC, UT 84106 on June 22nd at 11:00am. A viewing will be held June 21st from 6:00pm-8:00pm, also one hour prior to funeral services for family and friends. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery located at 1342 E. 500 S. SLC, UT 84102.
