Craig was a wonderful friend to many. He loved his longtime friends from his youth, as well as his new friends made in recent years. His friendly and engaging personality drew people from all walks of life.
In his youth, and in healthier years, he participated in Olympus High School football and wrestling. He completed 2 marathons and was an avid biker, riding to the top of Millcreek Canyon several times each year.
After serving an LDS mission to the California San Jose Mission, he lived his adult life in the Salt Lake City area. Craig Worked for 31 years at the University of Utah Hospital in many healthcare capacities. He was a big man with a kind heart, and he loved to serve others.
Craig was a fan of BYU football and the San Francisco Giants. He loved baseball and baseball statistics, picnics, buffet dinners, all holidays, family gatherings, and anything Chocolate.
His love of, and faith in Jesus Christ, and his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has been a constant comfort to him. He was a faithful member who loved the temple and all church meetings and activities.
Above all, Craig loved and appreciated his extended family and took an interest in us all. He was a wonderful son to his beloved mother. We will all miss his outstanding memory, his jokes, his big hugs, and especially his example of grace, strength and dignity as he endured many trails in his life. We will miss him so very much.
Craig is preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Don E. Petersen. He is survived by his older siblings, Edward Vincent (Julia – deceased), and Susan Campbell (Scott), two nephews, four nieces and their 18 children.
As a family, on behalf of Craig, we would like to thank his devoted friends, the staff of Meadow Peak Assisted Living, Bishop Steve Black, and the doctors and Hospice nurses of Huntsman Cancer Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care they gave Craig.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary – 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah. Dedication of the grave and Interment will follow.
