I just now learned of Cody’s death. I am so sorry!
I haven’t seen Cody in several years, but I remember him well from when he was my student and when he used to drop by and say hello once he was in high school.
Cody was such a fun, friendly guy. The world will be a sadder place without him.

Cody left the impression as someone who was unobtrusive, a kean observer, shared great insight and his wonderful humor, a genuine and kind person. A conversation with him left you feeling good. And the love he and Brooke shared was evident in the way they looked at each other and the way she was lit up by it. He will be missed.

Cody was a warm and congenial man of strength and kindness. Always approachable and a sincere listener that touched tens of thousands of lives. 
I can picture of the masses of people lined up to greet and thank him as he was received in heaven.

It was a great honor knowing Cody. He was a great Sargent and had an a great sense of humor. My favorite meme pry is him telling me he was going to buy my a bell because I was to quiet when walking or entering the office. I would scare him every time not always on purpose.

I am truly grateful to know Cody and watch and learn from him. Cody was truly gifted in bringing calm and caring to challenging situations as a leading member of the hospital behavioral emergency response team. I can only describe him as constant, compassionate and measured in all he did and said. He almost always knew the right course of action before anyone else and would carefully guide our teams to arrive at a plan. At the same time, Cody was able to listen thoroughly and articulate the needs of patients in a way that brought clarity to both our teams and patients and family. He is gone too soon but has brought us all to a better place for all he has done. Thank you Cody!

I did not know Cody for very long, but he has had a profound impact on me. From my first training I knew he was someone I wanted to be around.
He showed so much genuine interest in who I was, I looked up up to him. 
I looked forward to every Sunday morning when I got to see him. He’d sit me down and we would just talk. Our conversations covered everything and would stretch past working hours, I loved every moment of it. 
My Sunday mornings won’t be the same. Cody, I miss you, but I am forever grateful for the friend you were to me. Until we meet again.

Cody is missed and will be remembered fondly. He has moved on from this world but the impact that he made will live on in our hearts and memories. His calm and friendly demeanor will serve as a reminder of the greatness that humanity has to offer. 

Cody always had my back at work. He was an amazing man and will be missed. 

I had the opprotunity to work with Cody at the U for the last few years and putting Cody's personality into words is a challenge. Cody had one of those bigger than life personalities.You know when people say this place needs more good people. Cody was the good people they're talking about. He had a smile that would light up a room but also a stare that would put you on your feet (which got us out of dangerous situations more than once). Most of all though, Cody truly cared. 

Cody was the type of guy who would ask how your day is going and actually want to know the answer. He would take the time to catch up if he hadn't seen you for a bit and he was fiercely loyal. He had this way of making patients feel heard and seen that was just indescribable. I'm going to miss Cody. He lives on in all of us through the lives he's touched and I like many others, won't forget the impact he had. 

Cody, if you didn't like him it was because you never met him. We should all strive to have his infectious smile and positive attitude towards everything he encountered. I will miss this young man with an old soul dearly. Til Vahalla  my friend. 
                                                                                                              

Cody was a person I looked up to and admired. His fun loving attitude and love for helping people will always be something I will continue to strive for. Rest easy. 

Everyone knew Cody at the U. We will miss his calm thoughtfulness! Many thoughts and prayers to his family. 

Working with Cody at the U was nothing short of a pleasure. He was a fantastic mentor, friend and coworker. Every opportunity I had to work with Cody, I took it because I knew I could rely on him. His wisdom, knowledge and work ethic in the hospital was exceptional. He will be missed dearly and I will forever cherish the short amount of time that I had to work with him. Cody was an amazing supervisor and a dear friend. He was always supportive and would motivate me to be better. It didn’t matter if it was during a shift when I pissed him off, or when we’d go to breakfast after a long grave shift, or even just for drinks on the weekend. Cody was always great to interact with and be around. Especially his witty remarks or random nicknames. He called me his “latin fire”. Cody emitted a kind and approachable aura that you don’t see in that many people. 

I enjoyed every second of our banter even when I was annoying you, I knew I would end up making you laugh to patch things up. You’ll be missed compadre.

Cody had experience and composure beyond his age.  I have yet to meet his equal and will miss him dearly.  He was the go to guy when things needed to get done.  He was the first to step up and take on an assignment or lead his team towards a task.  We had Cody come visit us once we moved to the country.  He seemed  to be in his element…fishing, shooting and just enjoying the outdoors.  We will remember him always.  God speed Cody.

Cody was one of our first Behavioral Response officers at the U. Working a neuro floor we saw his team A LOT. Anytime I saw Cody walk on to our floor I knew we were in good hands and things were going to go well. When I heard if Cody's passing I was absolutely crushed. I had spoken to him in passing with him going to his office and I to lunch. we talked for about 20 minutes about absolutely nothing. To his parents- Strong work on raising such a phenomenal man. Cody will be missed by those of us that worked with him. Rest easy Cody. We have the watch.

Cody was one of my favorite people. Always happy, optimistic, energetic, and willing to do anything to help out. He had a bright future and will be truly missed. He was integral to many of the initiatives we implemented at the hospital. I've worked in public safety/law enforcement for 28 years and he was one of the best I've had the opportunity to work with. The world needs more Codys. Much love to his family and closest friends.
