Cody Michael McGuire passed, unexpectedly, on July 6th, 2023 at 25 years old. Cody was born March 31st, 1998 in Murray, Utah to Travis and Andrea McGuire.
Cody devoted the last 5 years of his life to the University of Utah Hospital for the Department of Public Safety. He was an admired Sergeant, trainer, and mentor to many of his peers. Cody impacted many lives with the position that he held at the hospital. During his time, he earned many accomplishments and recognition for his achievements. Cody was a compassionate protector for all staff and patients of the hospital. As a senior at Cyprus High School, Cody earned one of three internships with Unified Fire Authority at Station #111 in Magna, Utah. This led into a position with UFA for several years as an EMT. Cody continued his fire journey as a volunteer at Cedar Fort Fire Department as a wildland firefighter.
All of Cody's life he enjoyed being outdoors. He would often go camping at Thunder Mountain with family, kayaking and fishing with his best friends Robert and Brody, and shooting with anyone who would like to go *pew pew* with him. Cody loved having the wind in his hair, riding his Harley with his girl on the back, and side by side riding with his "Daddio". Cody was very proud of his accomplishment of owning his home. When he wasn't outdoors, he would be found vegetating and playing video games in his recliner. Cody began training in martial arts at the age of 4 under Sensei Tyler Martin. At 12 Cody was a black belt in Kempo Karate and began instructing the younger generation of students at the dojo.
