Clara Danelowski, age 101, died August 24, 2024. “Clare” was born on October 31, 1922, in Jersey City, NJ to Janina Wisniewski and Boleslaw Oldakowski. She grew up in Bayonne, NJ, where she married her husband, Charlie of 62 years, and raised their family. Clare and Charlie retired to Naples, FL in the 1980’s. After Charlie’s death, Clare remained in Naples for 11 years, before moving to The Wellington, Assisted Living Facility, in Salt Lake City, UT.
Clare was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and aunt. Her many friends were attracted to her uplifting spirit. Her wonderful outlook on life allowed her to deal with and overcome any adversity. She raised 4 children during the 1950's, 60's and 70's in the most loving and tender way while being strict about her personal beliefs of compassion, empathy and dignity. She passed on her wonderful love of cooking to 3 generations. Her amazing dinners will always be remembered. She loved music, and always had a tune to sing. Going to a Broadway musical was one of her favorite pastimes. She loved to dance from 1940's Big Band, Viennese Waltzes, to line-dancing the "Hustle" in the 1970's. Clare and Charlie were also admired on the dance floor for their great polka dancing. Her level-headed "one day at a time" attitude and inner strength were an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed.
Survivors include Clare’s sons: Dennis Danelowski & wife Melissa; Mark Danelowski & wife Marlina Teich; and daughters: Judy Sing & husband Harry, and Janice Hurley.
