Charlotte was born June 1, 1936 in Salt Lake City (East Mill Creek), the youngest of five children. Her parents are the late James L. Watson and Grace McNeill Watson. She went to Granite High School and graduated from Olympus High School in 1954, the first graduating class. She worked for the Salt Lake Kiwanis Club for 22 years where she touched the hearts of many and served her community.
Charlotte was blessed with many talents including a love of music, service to others, and being a loving wife and mother. Charlotte freely shared her love of music by playing the piano and organ. She loved to gather family around the piano to sing. Charlotte was a true friend to all. She frequently extended her love and kindness to others, particularly "the one" who needed a friend. She loved being with family, and being a dedicated wife and mother was her greatest desire. She magnified those roles to the end. Charlotte was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She shared her Christ-like qualities with everyone, and she especially loved the members of the East Mill Creek 2nd Ward.
Charlotte is survived by her eternal companion, Donald R. Zarkou, and children: Brian Zarkou (Cathy), Boise ID, Stephen Zarkou, Donald B. Zarkou (Annette), Jeanette Hamilton (Jim), and Michael Zarkou, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and beloved daughter, Julie. She will be greatly missed, but we will follow her example and look forward to a joyous reunion in the future.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00am at the East Mill Creek 2nd Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2600 E). Friends and family are invited to visit Friday evening 6:00-8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church Saturday morning 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Messages and tributes for the family can be posted at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
