Carol Jean Ahlstrom passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the age of 89. One of nine children, she was born to Leonard J. and LaPreal M. Adderley on August 25, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Carol married Clifford M. Duncan in 1947, and they had four children together: Vicky Webb (Steve), Danny Duncan (Julia), Lynda Johnson (Gary), And Paula Myers (Dean). They later divorced, and Carol then met and married Dale L. Ahlstrom in 1976. Dale had three children from a previous marriage: Joseph Ahlstrom (Julie Anne), Janette Jackson (Rex), and James Ahlstrom (Robin). Carol and Dale were later sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Oakland Temple.
Carol worked in the retail industry and enjoyed helping people. She loved traveling and exploring new places, square dancing, and growing various flowers with roses and irises being two of her favorites. Carol enjoyed cooking and was a great cook.
In addition to her children and stepchildren, she is survived by two sisters and one brother: Betty Howard, Diane Jensen, and Bruce Adderley, eighteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, and both husbands.
A brief family visitation will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The interment services will follow afterward at the gravesite.
