Born Brenda Lynn Broce on June 11, 1955, in Garden City, Kansas, to Bobby and Donna Broce, who both preceded her in death, Brenda was a beloved sister to Michael Broce, with whom she grew up as best friends, and younger sister Sandra Broce, her kindred spirit with whom she shared a deep bond. Known for her warmth and kindness, Brenda was a cherished family member and friend. Her early years were spent moving across the Midwest, where she built deep, lasting friendships wherever she called home. She eventually settled in Utah as a high school student, a place that became her long-term home.
Brenda welcomed two sons, Toby Jespersen, who preceded her in death, and Jaime Jespersen (wife Jacqui Jespersen, whom she bonded with deeply as a daughter). She shared the joy of one grandson, Corbin, who precedes her in death, and two granddaughters, Livie (with Colin Mangum, who felt like family from the start) and Lucy. Brenda inspired her sons to live boldly, go after their dreams, and express themselves, especially through music. She cherished every moment with Livie and Lucy, encouraging them to embrace life fully, pursue their dreams, and supporting them in any way she could.
Brenda later welcomed Whitney Zucker, her beloved daughter, with whom she shared a special bond. She encouraged Whitney to be bold, adventurous, and to find joy wherever she could. Brenda deeply loved Whitney’s daughter, Aryelle, who held a cherished place in her heart, and she delighted in watching her explore the world. Together, Brenda and Aryelle shared countless memories that will forever be treasured.
In 1995, Brenda was fortunate to meet Kelly Thompson, the love of her life and devoted partner in all adventures. Together, they traveled widely, enjoyed countless road trips and fishing excursions, and always made their home a welcoming space, no matter where they were. Brenda and Kelly’s love was a source of strength and comfort, shared with fierce devotion to their grandchildren, who held the center of their hearts. Their love was one for the ages, a blessing to everyone who witnessed it.
Brenda found immense joy in experiencing life to its fullest. She was adventurous, supportive, loving, and resilient—a woman of strength and warmth who made everyone feel like the most incredible person on earth. She cherished time spent outdoors, enjoyed fishing, exploring nature, learning about world cultures and spirituality, and embracing the beauty of each moment. She deeply believed that, no matter what happened, love was the way forward through her boundless compassion.
Brenda had many deeply connected relationships with extended family and friends. She relished in these connections. Her home was a welcoming space for all—a haven of warmth, acceptance, and laughter, where everyone felt like family.
Her career in Supply Chain/Management was an extension of her compassionate nature, touching countless lives and inspiring others to learn and grow. Brenda was respected by her friends for her dedication and genuine kindness.
Brenda passed peacefully on November 11, 2024, at her home with her loving husband by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
