1926 ~ 2012
On this day, March 25, 2012 our loving Mother, Betty Lorraine Fellows Jackson, after 86 years of life has left this mortal experience to rejoin her earthly parents, Wilford James Fellows and Wilhelmina Hendricka Stam Fellows.
Born to them on February 18, 1926, the first of three children, Betty was raised and educated, married and raised her family, and pursued a career in the Salt Lake Valley.
While married to John Howard Jackson, she enjoyed the births of five children. Lorraine Peach, of Mesquite, Nevada, Vaughn Jackson (Kathy) of Sandy, Denise Daley of Kohler Wisconsin, Gayle Jackson (Don Zanelli) of Layton, and Colleen Severance (Mike) of Loveland, Colorado. Betty and Howard later divorced.
While her children were young, Betty was a devoted Room Mother and served as the PTA President for several years in the Granite School District. As a member of the LDS Church she faithfully served many callings including in the Primary and Relief Society Presidencies. As her kids aged she began her career at LDS Hospital retiring 20 years later as Pulmonary / Respiratory Lab Supervisor. She was a long-standing member of the Allegro Chorus.
After retirement she was able to travel, volunteer, serve the Church, and enjoy her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Betty loved her gardening, crocheting, Christmas crafts, and jumping in her car to drive to visit kids and grandkids, but most of all she loved her little Chihuahua Trixie.
Survived by her brother W. Jay Fellows (Marilyn) and sister Carma Toronto (Alan), her children and grandchildren. Preceeded in death by her parents, Brother-in-law Dr. Alan Toronto, Aunts, cousins and friends that are all rejoicing in her return.
Special thanks to Kathy Plaster and all the caregivers involved in her care for the past years.
