Ann Brimley Hutchinson passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023 at the age of 80. Ann was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard and Melba Brimley on June 29, 1943 and has a brother, Richard. Ann attended Highland High School and Brigham Young University, where she earned a degree in nursing. Ann married Benjamin Kay Hutchinson in 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were happily married for 44 years. Ann and Ben have four children, Craig (Jeanmarie), Neil (Shellie), Justin, and Weston (Marci), and 11 grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben, and her daughter in law Allison.
Ann had a zest for life and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandma. Ann worked as a pediatric nurse for many years and found great joy in this work. Ann was a gifted seamstress and often shared her skill and talents with others. For many years Ann had a successful sewing business, the Rabbit Habit, that featured her darling, handcrafted stuffed rabbits.
Ann was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various callings, including callings in Primary and Young Women. Ann was always generous with her time and talents and never hesitated to help a friend in need. In her later years Ann enjoyed traveling, shopping, spending time with her grandkids, and weekly card nights with her closest friends. Ann very much enjoyed attending the symphony and local theater productions. Her zeal for living was evident and she was always willing to go on an adventure, see new places, and do new things.
Services will be held at the LDS chapel located at 3080 S. Kenwood St. in Salt Lake City. Visit with the family from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM. Funeral 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund.
