Shirley Mary Simmons

Simmons, Shirley Dech Heaven welcomed a new angel on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Shirley Dech Simmons , 93, of Midlothian VA, joined her lifetime love Cary Simmons, her parents Helen and Warren Dech Sr., her brother Warren Dech Jr., and her much beloved and youngest grandson Grayson Simmons. Cherishing her memory are her son Keith and his wife Susan, her daughter Norea Lowery and her husband Art, grandchildren Colin Lowery, Hayley Lowery, Brittney Boone and husband Greg, Brandon Simmons and wife Katie, great grandchildren Samuel Lowery, Reese and Harper Simmons, and Rowan Boone.

The family thanks Spring Arbor and devoted friends Deborah, Marie, Mary Kay, and Peggy for their loving support and care. Shirley grew up in Nazareth, PA, falling in love with Cary in the fifth grade. Marrying Cary in 1950, she traveled the world as an Army wife and was a devoted mother to Norea and Keith. Her husband and children knew her as a strong woman, always putting family first, and possessing a seldom revealed red head‘s temper.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm Monday November 26 at Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home 1020 Huguenot Road Midlothian, VA with a service at 6 pm. Interment private.
