Ralph George Morell, 86, of Midland passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born on March 29, 1927 in Electra, Texas to James Floyd Morell and Lena Bell Joplin Morell. Ralph fought and served for his country in World War II. After his time in the service he married the love of his life, Doraetta Russell Morell. Ralph moved to Corpus Christi in 1953, where he worked at Suntide Refinery and Costal States Refinery as a welder. Ralph and Doraetta moved to Midland in 1969, shortly after they opened the first Armstrong McCall, that later changed to Redken Distributers Associates where he retired. His hobbies include bowling and Deep Sea fishing. Ralph was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. He was a very generous man for the community of Midland and other charities as well. Ralph had the biggest heart that any man could have, and a passion for his family that will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doraetta; his parents; two brothers and one sister.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Cindy J. Hall and D. Yvonne Hollingsworth; three grandchildren: Dusty McCollum of Midland, Evette Pack of Rhome, Texas and Misty Lane of Burleson, Texas; six great grandchildren; sisters, Billie Easley of Houston and Lucinda Texas Engleheart of Midland. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 27, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm at Ellis Funeral Home. A funeral service has been set at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the Chapel at Ellis Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
