Mary Kathryn Rattan

Mary Kathryn Cook Rattan was born on March 2, 1920 to Obediah Richardson Cook and Eugenia Virginia Blair in Post, TX. Mary K. Passed away on June 27, 2011 at the home of her daughter with the family she loved so dearly.

Mary K. was a graduate of Post High School. Continuing a family tradition, she graduated from Texas Tech in 1942. Her oldest sister, Anna, enrolled in Tech the day it opened; and to this day there has been a descendent of the O. R. Cook family at Tech – a fact she was extremely proud of.

She had 12 brothers and sisters, who all preceded her in death with the exception of Dr. O.R. Cook and his wife Elaine from Lovington, N. M. She has three children: Tom and his wife Pat, Suzzan Nutting and her husband O. K., and Richard and wife Dee. Eight grandchildren: Trevor and Shea, Glenn and wife Talia, Blair and wife Lauren, Austin and wife Jennifer, Cody, Rikki, and Makena.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Methodist Church. Memorials can be made to St. Paul Methodist Church.
