She was born in Hebronville, Texas on October 29, 1950 to Jorge and Maria Perez. They moved to Lamesa, Texas where, on June 13, 1970 she married George V. Lara, Sr. After training at Job Corps in California, Maria found employment with Midland Lee High School in Midland, Texas. She loved cheering for her grandchildren at various sporting events. Above all, she enjoyed Friday Night Lights and Texas football.
Maria was blessed, loved by many and was devoted to her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Argelio Villanueva and son, Jaime Lara.
Left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Lucha Villanueva, George Perez, Joel Perez, Jose Luis Perez; sister, Imelda Sanchez; daughter, Maricela Lara-Nevarez (Alex); son, George Lara, Jr. (Ami); grandchildren, Kristin Lara, Wesley Lara, Cain Lara, Diago Lara, Georgee Lara, McKinzee Lara, Valentin Lara, Luke Lara, Andria Lara, Joaquin Nevarez and Adriano Nevarez and great grandchild Khloe Lara.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
