She was born on November 28, 1921 in Crowell, Texas where she went to school and attended the United Methodist Church. After graduating from high school, she worked as a dental assistant in Vernon, Texas. Margaret then moved to Midland and was a long-time resident.
In Midland, she was a receptionist and switchboard operator at Borden Milk Company, Phillips Petroleum and then at Drilco Industrial until she retired. She was active in AARP and served as president of the local chapter. She played bridge regularly and enjoyed dancing at the Petroleum Club.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Forrest Vaughan; parents John Kenny and Mary Jane Woods; brother, Douglas Woods and her sisters, Lennis Woods, Catherine Clark and Mary Frances Espy.
She is survived by her step daughters Karron Vaughan of Canyon Lake, Texas and Karla Vaughan of Granbury, Texas; niece Cindy Cochran and husband Robert of Midland; great nephew Ryan Cochran and wife Jennifer and great great nieces Mialynn and Keira Cochran all of Midland.
A visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. There will be a funeral service in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 12:00 p.m.
