Lola Kate "Katie" Gaither was born on June 10, 1924 in Bluff Dale, Texas and was received by Our Heavenly Father on December 29, 2011. She was the oldest of 8 and married Virgil Gaither in 1965 in Tallahassee, Florida. He preceded her in death in 1977. She moved to Midland, Texas 6 years later where she lived the rest of her life. She retired from the Kettle as a restaurant manager in 1994. She was a mom and a grandma to all she encountered. She is survived by her son-in-law and daughter, Dean and Sarah Teagarden of Midland and her granddaughters Amanda and Melody Merrill of Beebe, Arkansas and Libby Teagarden of Midland. Her extended family includes: Lesa Winford, Marilyn Friday, Lynn Miller, Eva Bartlett and June Capps of Midland and church family. her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31 at 10:30 am at the Church of God on Thomason Drive in Midland. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Virgil, in Bridgeport, Texas.
