Joy Beth Hanson

She was born March 25,1932 in Big Spring Texas. She married Bobby Sam Hanson on February 19, 1953 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Joy is survived by her two daughters, Pam Savant of Midland, Texas; Kim Polk and her husband Glenn of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sisters, Betty Nell Payne of Midland, Kathie Platt of The Hills, Texas; one brother, Sammy Jones of Waco, Texas; one granddaughter Miranda Massey and husband Michael of Midland; one great granddaughter, Sydney Rose Massey who was the apple of her eye. Along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby S. Hanson; son-in-law Sidney Savant, parents Samuel B. Jones and Thelma Jones; brother Robert Jones and sister Patsy Jones.

Joy was a loving and devoted stay at home mom. She enjoyed her granddaughter and her great granddaughter who was a long awaited blessing, she also enjoyed all the road trip vacations she took with family and later just her and her husband.

A public visitation for Joy will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy, Midland, Texas 79701. A graveside will occur Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N Big Spring St, Midland, Texas 79705.
