Jimmy Dwian Ward

Dwian was born in the Doss family farmhouse in Brown County, Texas, on December 22, 1935, to Myrtle Mary Doss and Virgil Dean Ward. He graduated from Bangs High School in 1955. He later studied welding at Midland College. Dwian was married to Patsy Ellsworth on September 28, 1968; they were married for 46 years.

After almost 30 years, Dwian retired as a measurement technician from Enron. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed following his children in the Lee High School band. He was a deacon at Bellview Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.

Dwian is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Ward.

Dwian is survived by his wife, Patsy; his children Jimmy Lynn Ward and wife Traci, Doss Ellsworth Ward and wife Tara, and Sheila Ward Smith and husband John; his grandchildren, Brayden Ward, Mattie Smith, Devon Rose, Mason Smith, Alexander Ward, and Sophia Ward; his brother Norris Dean Ward and wife Ann; numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 2, at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 3, at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Wills officiating, assisted by Rev. Myron Unruh. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
