Jackie Ingram was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on December 12, 1926 to John Cornelius Fervoy and Venus Irene Glad Fervoy. After graduating from Marquette Catholic High School in Tulsa, she continued on to receive a BBA from Oklahoma State University. Following graduation she moved to Midland, and began work as a legal secretary for Superior Oil Company, retiring after more than 20 years as secretary to the president of the company.
During her early years in Midland, Jackie met Thomas P. Ingram and married him on September 7, 1968. They were married for 36 years, and traveled the world together, literally from the Arctic to the Antarctic and most countries in between. Many of their trips included their dear friend, Fr. Richard Houlahan, who shared their love of travel. In addition to travel, Jackie was very creative. She knitted over 50 Christmas stockings for family and friends, never making two alike, and each year she created a handmade ornament for the entire family. Other hobbies included bridge and poker, which she enjoyed with a wonderful group of lifelong friends.
Jackie shared her husband Tom’s love of this community and church, and they supported numerous organizations. Dear to her heart was the Midland Memorial Foundation and the Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Her service as a pink lady spanned over four decades and she was awarded a 14,000 hour pin for dedicated service. She attended and supported St. Ann’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society for most of her life. Together she and Tom gave generously to build organizations in the Midland area. They were true boosters for their community and dedicated to making Midland a better place to live.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, nephew John W. Wolf, and brother-in-law George L. Wolf.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Jane C. Wolf; nieces, Barbara Clarke (Steve), Audrey Wolf, and Carolyn Copeland (Terry) of Midland; Susan McGuinness (Tim) of Canyon Lake; Loretta Loykasek and Lucy Loykasek Schellbach (Craig) of Burleson; and Annie Loykasek Kellner (Fred) of Richardson; great nieces Amanda Wolf Fralin (Brian), Angela Wolf Wallace (Dustin), Sarah Erickson Ortez, and Laura Copeland; great nephews David Recknagel (Jaime), Russell Clarke (Jessica), Scott Clarke (Ashley), Christopher Copeland, and numerous great, great nieces and nephews.
