Frank was born in Pecos, Texas on September 15, 1950 to Frank Edison Lasater, Sr. and Lila Lynette Lasater. Frank was married to Jamie Lea Lasater on May 7, 2005; they were married for 16 1/2 years.
Frank graduated from Midland Lee in 1969 and continued his education at Sul Ross where he played football. He then joined the Marine Corps in 1970 and served in Vietnam as a Military Policeman. He received several honors including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Rifle Expert Badge. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves for four years following his tour of active duty. He then completed his formal education at Texas A and M University with a degree in Agriculture Economics while working on the campus police force. Frank received his Master’s from Liberty University and his Doctorate of Divinity from Louisiana Baptist University.
He had a multi-faceted career as a successful business man, Baptist preacher, and rancher. He was a published author of several books including: "God’s Workmanship", "What Does God Know", "View from the Heights" Volumes 1 and 2. Frank was an avid golfer, a pilot, and an excellent horseman. He was a real cowboy and won numerous roping competitions. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids participate in activities. He was faithful to love and train his daughters and grandchildren in Godly ways. He was extremely generous to family and friends, and even to people he had just met. He loved spending time with nieces and nephews and even his three brothers, especially on their binges where he was the founder and leader of the annual Binge Brothers Golf Outing founded in 1993.
He is survived by his wife Lea Lasater, daughters Rebecca (Jeffrey) Bunger, Amanda (Joe) La Puma, Abby McMullen, and Stacey (Butch) Eby, also
Brothers Ed (Brenda) Lasater, Roger (Debra) Lasater, and Andy (Karen) Lasater. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Beatrice Lasater.
Pallbearers are Ed Lasater, Roger Lasater, Andy Lasater, David Bunger, Blake Bunger, and Colton Bunger. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Mills Lasater, Douglas Wayne Lasater, Collin Beal, Bill Sparkman, and Frank Johnson.
