Charles was born in Paducah, TX on September 25, 1928 to Charles Amial (A.C.) Hageman and Blanche Alma Clark. He graduated from Paducah High School. He married DuVon Maxine Christlieb on February 19, 1955.
Charles’s careers began in selling cars, moved into finance, mining and for 28 years he worked for Aprotex Corporation. He loved all of the people who worked with him and considered them all family.
In the early 1980’s he received a calling which he could no longer ignore and thus began his pursuit of his most fulfilling job. In 1983 he was ordained as a Deacon in the Anglican Church and was ordained the Reverend Charles Hageman in 1984. Through the years he has served at Rector and a founder of St. Paul’s Anglican Church of Prescott, Arizona and All Saints Anglican of the Verde Valley, in Cottonwood Arizona. He also served as Rector at Holy Trinity Anglican Church of Hobbs, New Mexico. Since 1988 he has served as Rector for St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Midland, Texas. His wife DuVon, served alongside of him as church organist, on the altar guild and anything else that needed to be done until her death in 2005. They were a great team and enjoyed working side by side. He lovingly took care of her during her 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s serving as an amazing example of what it means to love in “sickness and in health”.
After his retirement from Aprotex he continued as the Priest of St. Paul’s and began to pursue his second passion, painting. He spent many hours studying and painting with his “best friend” Buddy. When he wasn’t painting he and Buddy took long walks, gardened, worked out with his super trainer Shelly and spent many hours with his family and hanging out with his grandkids.
