Her last moments were spent at North Point Nursing & Rehabilitation, surrounded by loved ones and friends, including the nurses that took amazing care of her day and night.
Caroline was born in Atwater, CA and was known for having a loving and friendly personality. She loved to laugh and spend time with family. In her earlier years, Caroline graduated at Itazuki High School located on her father’s Air Force Base in Japan. As she grew, she married Dennis Ray Hollars and gave birth to Carey Lynn Gonzales and Sheri Rae Young. As her children grew, she stayed at home raising, them. Once her children were in high school and college, she met the love of her life, John David Miller. They were living a wonderful life together, and she decided to attend San Angelo State University. Where she received her degree in Special Needs Education. She worked many years in ECISD working with special-needs students, which she absolutely loved and was very proud of. Her final years before retirement were spent teaching at Region 18.
Caroline is survived by her two daughters, Carey Lynn Gonzalez and Sheri Rae Young, also son-in-law Jose Manuel Gonzalez. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren and her very special great grandchildren. Finally would be her oldest brother, Michael Holcomb, her youngest brother Tom Holcomb, cousins, and many friends
Caroline is preceded in death by her husband, John David Miller, as well as her mother, Caroline Nosler Holcomb, and father, Thomas Harry Holcomb, and her son-in-law David Thomas Young.
Caroline will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She has a way of making people around her happy. She had a very kind heart. Caroline’s final three years were spent struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, and ultimately a severe stroke that took her life. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy and love she brought to the lives of others and not the sadness of passing. She is finally reunited with her husband, He was the love of her life and she couldn’t wait to join him in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Ellis Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
