Beverly was born on June 20 1952 in Worland, WY to Ella & Cullen Heath. In her early childhood, she had the wonderful experience of traveling with her parents all over the western United States seeing many different areas and cities. She attended multiple elementary schools until finally returning to her parents’ home state of Texas & to Midland in 1964. Beverly graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1970 where she played clarinet in the band & played on the HS golf team. She earned a golf scholarship to Odessa Jr College.
She worked for many years in the retail business of electrical / lighting & found she absolutely had a talent for helping others create beautiful spaces in their homes for color & light. After the closing of the lighting store, she went back to college graduating from University of Texas - Permian Basin in 1993 & became a very enthusiastic science teacher at Lee Freshman for ~15 years. She loved and was fascinated by science & nature and wanted others to see all its beauty & power. She had a great love of animals & insects; taking in every stray or injured creature brought to her. She had an exceptional ability to train all of them from the prairie dog to the iguana. Her interesting little zoo made her classroom the talk of the town and the students. She absolutely loved being a teacher but she retired early due to health issues.
Beverly loved to read & watch interesting movies & shows about science, history, or nature. She was known for her habit of reading the end of the novel before starting it. She was the family encyclopedia and was always the family’s first call about anything science, medical or electrical. She was an avid sports fan, spending time at the ballpark or in front of her tv enthusiastically supporting her favorite teams. She was known for her quick wit, her beautiful green eyes, her love of animals but mostly for how she loved her family.
Beverly is preceded in death by her father Cullen Heath; granddaughter Elizabeth Duncan & ex-husband Gary Duncan. She is survived by her mother Ella Heath, sons Christopher Duncan & wife Emmi; Matthew Duncan & wife Laura; granddaughters Kimberly Duncan & Alyssa Duncan; step-grandson Justin Langston.
