In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Douglas Harper.
Marianne lived a life full of passion and joy. She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, cooking, and traveling to the beach. She also loved shopping and taking care of her cherished Beagle, Ace. Above all, Marianne adored her grandchildren and took immense pride in watching them participate in all their activities—baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, or running. She especially enjoyed attending their Christmas plays and watching them perform on stage.
Marianne had a long and dedicated career at Bethesda North, where she worked for 35 years in Emergency Room Admissions. Prior to that, she owned and operated her own nursery school, where she loved teaching, coaching, and helping children. She also volunteered as a pastoral care counselor at Tri Health, where she offered compassion and support to those in need.
She is survived by her children: Debbie Pendleton, Chuck Harper (Delana), Steve Harper (Michele), and Laura Meiners (Mike); seven grandchildren: Ashley, Nicki, Nate, Anna, Gabriela, Marley, and George; and nine great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, CJ, Arryan, Grace, Riley, Yah’siah, Amari, RayShawn, and Harrison.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, OH 45044. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
