Born February 1, 1937 in Pleven, Bulgaria, she immigrated to Lorain, OH 50 years ago. She was the beloved wife to the very Rev. Fr. Vladimir Ivanov (deceased), loving mother to Nedyalko (deceased), & beloved grandmother to Juliana (George), Maria, Ned (Stephanie), and Alexander (Angelina).
She will be remembered for her phenomenal Bulgarian cooking and talent as a violinist. Her strong emphasis on academics and work ethic is exemplified through her grandchildren. Elka was one of Bulgaria's first female Electrical Engineers - designing everything from blast furnaces at steel mills to the Magnum XL 200 at Cedar Point.
Visitation Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 9:30AM-10AM followed by a funeral service at 10AM at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 5913 State Rd., Parma OH 44134. Interment will follow at St. Theodosius Orthodox Christian Cemetery 8200 Biddulph Rd., Brooklyn, OH 44144
