Steve was born in Miami, Florida, on November 2, 1961, to his parents, Lillian and Douglas Ford. After graduating from Baldwin High School in 1979, he pursued a career in sales. Steve worked as a salesman for DS Services of America for nearly 29 years, and during his time there, he developed a strong bond with his colleagues who were like brothers to him.
On December 27, 1980, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Saundra Woolgar (Sandy), and they had a daughter, Tara Lynn Ford, who was born on February 8, 1989.
Steve was passionate about nature and loved spending his leisure time on his boat, fishing, or relaxing at the beach or by the lake. At home, he found pleasure in working in his yard, chatting with his neighbors, and connecting with other fishing enthusiasts on social media, where he shared pictures of his catches. He loved all critters and routinely left food out for birds, deer, and any other wildlife that would relish his treats. Steve was a lifelong supporter of the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watching football with his wife and daughter was one of his most cherished pastimes. He treasured spending time with his entire family, and his brothers-in-law, Richard Owens and Joel Atheney, were his very best friends.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Sandy, beautiful daughter Tara, brother Thomas Ford, and numerous friends and family. He had a gift for conversation and never met a stranger.
He will be greatly missed!
