Keith Jerome Martin was the youngest of two sons born to Clezail Martin and Shirley Brown-Martin on April 23, 1972, in Bitburg, Germany. As a child growing up Keith was very much the prankster. As the child of a military family he lived various places around the world. After graduating from Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Virginia in 1990. Keith attended Virginia State University a historical HBCU where he ran track.
1993 Keith joined The United States Army becoming the fourth generation Martin military man serving proudly and faithfully until his retirement in 2015, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Two. During his military service as a distinguished member of the 41st Field Artillery Brigade, the 2nd Infantry Division, Renegade 3 OPFOR Tank Team he received numerous medals and awards a few of which include The Army Commendation Medal for Meritious Service while in Iraq, Army Commendation Medal for Exceptionally Meritorious Services as a Meteorological Specialist for outstanding service and tactical expertise.
Keith enjoyed spending quiet time at the beach and working with his hands, he was quite the woodworker. Preceding him in death are his grandparents: Josephine Brown of Houston, Texas, Eliga and Ceolia Thompson of Houston, Texas and James Martin of California.
He is survived by a loving and devoted wife of eleven years Terry Martin; mother: Shirley Young currently of Jacksonville, Florida: father Clezail Martin(Diane) of San Antonio, Texas; one sister Katrina Brown(Devin) of San Antonio, Texas and one brother Demario Martin of Virginia: daughters: Amera Butrum (Caine) and MaKayela Cruse; son: Colton Cruise; aunts Alice Jackson of Houston, Texas and Sanora Thomas of Missouri City, Texas; mother-in-law: Denise Steele of West Branson, Missouri and father-in-law Steven Steele of Omaha, Nebraska; Grandchildren: LeAndre, Ryker, Alex, Zayden, Kayson and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home located at 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Family will host a visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am.
