Harry Brooks Morrell Jr., age 83, of Green Cove Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 in Orange Park, Florida. He was born in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Harry Sr. and Grace (Steedley) Morrell.
Harry married Virginia Branning and lived in Middleburg, Florida while raising their four loving children. He worked for over 37 years in the elevator industry. He was an active member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 49, of Jacksonville. After faithfully serving in Jacksonville, Harry Relocated to Kissimmee, Florida and became a dedicated member of the IUEC, local 139 of Kissimmee. Soon after retirement Harry made his home in Lake Asbury, Florida where provided unwavering care for his mother until her passing. Harry enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his dog Clyde.
Family members preceding Harry in passing were his father Harry B. Morrell Sr., mother Grace (Steedley) Morrell, two daughters Vickie Lynn Rowan and Lesa Rena Morrell, and his sister Patricia Ann Davies.
Harry is survived by his son Earnest B. Morrell (Denise); daughter Tina Marie Merritt (Tim); six grandchildren Nicole, Brooks, Jessica, Adam, Kristin, and Destiny, ten great grandchildren Cody, Mackensie, Anniston, Damien, Khalessi, Grace, Finley, Easton, Alex and Tissaia. He also leaves behind a host of friends and family that will miss him dearly.
