Darrell Dean Fowler passed from this life into the Lord’s presence, Monday December 4, 2017. He was born March 16, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida and for the past 20 years has resided in Middleburg. Darrell graduated from Terry Park High School in 1959. Early on he took flying lessons and did consider becoming a commercial pilot, but decided to pursue a career in garage doors starting out with a local company before branching out on his own eventually opening his own company Aldor Sales, Inc in 1973 until his retirement in 2009. The company is going strong with the second generation. His interest included coaching little league baseball and football. He was an avid hunter until his health no longer allowed. Later in retirement years he enjoyed working on his property with his backhoe and tracker. Also enjoyed as much as he could, watching his grandchildren play ball. He was married 25 plus years to the love of his life Rachel. He became a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God in 1994 and followed with water Baptism to recommit his life to Christ. He served as head usher at the South West Campus from the day it opened until recently due to his failing health. Survivors include his wife; Rachel Fowler, daughter; Tammy Lynn Briely (Randy), sons; Darrell Dean Fowler Jr. and Jon Derek Fowler (Jennifer), step children; Marvin Darrell Lanier, Teila Christine Killough (Mark), Kevin Duane Lanier (Josie), sister; Sybil Gwendolyn Campbell, grandchildren; Joshua Scott Barone, Katie Lynn Geyer (Collin), Jarrett Dean Fowler, Jon Michael Fowler, Brian Zachary Fowler and Wyatt Charles Fowler, step grandchildren; Sarah Ann Kimes, Victoria Leigh Kimes, Jeffrey Michael Young, Darrell Donavan Lanier (Morgan), Dustin Dean Lanier (Sabrina), Megan Rachel Stoddard (Ryan), Jessica Sheree Spear (Keeghan), Shayla Christine Spear (Jeffrey), Kevin Duane Lanier Jr. (Rebekah), Katelyn Leah Sisk (Donny), Katrina Ann Lanier, Kody Lanier, Shantelle Brooks (Tanner), Marvin Robert Killough Jr., 5 great grandchildren and whole host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; Luther Thomas Fowler and Eva Ruth Hawkins Fowler, brother; Luther Neil Fowler and sisters; Ruth Bernice Wheeler, Peggy Laverne Lane and Merle Cordella Fowler. He will be greatly missed by all. To know him was to love him, may he rest in peace. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday December 7, 2017 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, Florida 32068. Funeral service will be 11 AM Friday December 8, 2017 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5755 Ramona Blvd Jacksonville, Florida 32205 with 1 hour prior visitation.
