Carmel Sue DiMauro, age 72, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late, John Herbert and Norma Shultz. Carmel was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and will be dearly missed by her family and close friends.
Carmel loved family gatherings, the holidays, road trips and craft shows.
She loved "cookie night" during the holidays-making the cookie dough, rolling out the dough, using the cookie cutters to cut out holiday designs, the decorating of each cookie, and the aroma of fresh baked cookies in a kitchen filled with family.
Carmel loved making specially designed birthday cakes for her family. She made cakes that looked like guitars, wrestling rings, unicorns, minions, Barbie Doll cakes, Easter crosses and bunnies, footballs, pigs, roses and Piccachu.
Carmel loved all types of crafting. Some of her interests were quilting, ceramics, stitchery, decorative painting, sewing, making baby blankets and flower arranging. She participated in several craft shows in NE Florida and Georgia, such as Micanopy, McIntosh, Gainesville, Crystal River, Orange Park, and Cairo, Georgia.
Carmel traveled throughout the United States, having visited 46 of the 50 states. She also traveled to France and Germany.
Carmel is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Paul J. DiMauro; son, Matthew (Shana) DiMauro; 2 daughters: Christina (Richard) Encarnacion and Cassandra (David) Guido; sister, Mary Herbert-Ray; 7 grandchildren: Matthew DiMauro Jr, Lana DiMauro, James DiMauro, Josephine DiMauro, Zachary Encarnacion, Amber Guido and Jonathan Guido; and a host of extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 1-2 PM at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL. Graveside services will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Please post words of comfort at www.hollyhillfunerals.com.
