James Edward “Jim” Abner, 78 of Miamisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born December 13, 1943 to the late Rufie and Dorothy (Carrier) Abner. Jim worked for Dimco Gray for 43 years. He founded and was the Pastor of The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God for over 30 years. Jim was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed playing music, singing, and going to Heritage Hills campground at Brookville Lake. Jim shared his love of Jesus with anyone he met, and even used the family pool for baptisms.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David, Manford, and Clifford Abner; sisters, Evelean Young and Clara Mae Brewster; and beloved Maltese dogs, Star and Maxwell.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jean Abner; son, Todd Abner and wife Angie; daughter, Sherry Wagers and husband Larry; step-sons, Gary Stamm and wife Denise & family, Larry Stamm, Kenny Stamm & family; step-daughter, Amy Wolf and husband Steve; grandchildren, Jessica Sexton and husband Brendon, Shelby Wolf, Jacob Wagers, Jonathan Wagers, Robyn Kelly and husband Seth, Sam Abner, Ethan Abner, Joe Stamm, Bethany Schaeffer and husband Jacob, Jeff Middleton and wife Elisabeth & family, Sammie Sanders & family, Charlee Sanders & family, and Bailey Phillips; great-grandchildren, Owen Schaeffer and Colton Schaeffer; siblings, Catherine Young and husband Junior, Imma Jean Brown, and Maxine Evans; and numerous friends and loved ones.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg, Ohio. A Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Stamm officiating. He will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg, Ohio.
