Dr. E. "Tom" Thomas Flinn

Dr. E. Thomas Flinn, age 87 of Miamisburg, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023. He was born September 14, 1935 in Sidney, OH to the late Edward and Alice (Bush) Flinn. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia A. (Boyer) Flinn; brother, Robert Flinn; and sister, Margaret “Peg” Bulle.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Holtzman and Karin (Kevin) O’Donnel, both of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Alicia (Rory) Lancaster, Patrick O’Donnel, Andrew (Maren) O’Donnel, and Daniel Holtzman; great-grandchildren, Laina, Cohen and Benson Lancaster, and Callum O’Donnel; sisters-in-law, Nina Boyer and Eileen Boyer; brother-in-law, Roy Bulle; and many extended family, loved ones, and friends.

Tom graduated from Sidney High School and was an Eagle Scout. He earned his doctorate from The Ohio State University. Tom practiced as an optometrist in Miamisburg from 1969 until his retirement in June 1998. After he retired, he continued optometry part-time until 2020. He was a member of Antioch Shrine Rovers Unit, Miamisburg Rotary Club, and Miamisburg City Schools Board Member. He was a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church. Tom enjoyed golfing, sitting around the campfire, hosting parties for friends & family, attending Ohio State football games, and watching all of the activities of his grandchildren.

Private services with final resting place at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
