Claude Hickman passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023; he was 89. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet, who passed away on April 14, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents, George and Lura Hickman; sister, Claris Fleming; brother-in-law, Tom Lewis; sister-in-law, Ann Hickman; and son-in-law, John Zink.
He was a loyal member of the Minerva Lodge #98 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and Antioch Shriners of Dayton. Claude retired from the Miamisburg School District where he was a former principal and assistant superintendent. Before Miamisburg, he was an assistant superintendent, principal and teacher for Jefferson Township School District.
He is survived by his son, John Davis (Brenda) of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Susan Kreitzer (George) of Dayton; son, Denny Hickman of Dayton; daughter, Bobbi Zink of Mountain View, CA; his brother, George Hickman of Cincinnati; sisters, Mae Lewis of Belmont, WV and Martha Caldwell (Wayne) of Coolville, OH; brother-in-law, Don Fleming of Ft. Pierce, FL; as well as two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to show a special debt of gratitude to the Village at the Greene Nursing Home and Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. There will be a private interment at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Miamisburg at a date to be determined. Contributions in Claude’s memory may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
