Dr Sarah Ellen Levitz
February 24, 1988 - January 18, 2023
Sarah was a beautiful, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin and friend, to humans and animals alike, whom she blessed with many moments of joy.
Sarah's passions were evident in everything she did and she found joy in all the world has to offer. She was immensely knowledgeable, adventurous, creative and caring, with an intense love for everything science and nature. She loved scuba diving, searching for manatees, visiting butterfly and botanical gardens, collecting shells, and singing, especially karaoke. She particularly enjoyed crafting and adored gifting anyone and everyone personalised, handmade creations.
Her lifelong love and curiosity for animals led her to pursue Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh, helping countless animals and their owners. She also held a Bachelor of Science degree from Imperial College London, along with Master of Science degrees in Parasitology and One Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Royal Veterinary College, University of London.
As well as being a practicing veterinarian and veterinary surgeon, Sarah spent time in Africa working towards eliminating preventable parasitic diseases, namely schistosomiasis.
