away peacefully on November 13, 2024 after a long and well-lived life. At the age of 3, Rosa
and her younger sister, Maria Luisa, moved with their father to Havana, Cuba. In Cuba, she
attended the Escuela de Comercio and earned her Accountancy degree. At the young age of
22, Rosa left Cuba with her first husband, and created a life in Los Angeles, CA, where she had
her daughter and developed many lifelong friendships. However, Rosa’s heart was always in
Miami, with the Cuban community. At 40, when she received a job offer in Miami, she jumped at
it and started a whole new life in her beloved city. At 68, Rosa found love again and married Dr.
Humberto Machado. They had 12 lovely years together before he passed away. In her lifetime,
Rosa experienced many joys and challenges. She was a perfectionist and excelled in her
profession. She survived breast cancer two times. She enjoyed traveling and saw much of the
world. Her favorite places on earth were warm, tropical beaches. But of most importance to her
were her family, her friendships, and her faith. Rosa made many friendships over the years and
treasured every one. She was a loving and generous mother and grandmother. Rosa enjoyed
being amongst people most of all and was always up for any new outing or adventure. She is
survived by her daughter, Roxana Llano; her grandchildren, Ben and Sam Llano; and her sweet
chihuahua, Conchita. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 5-10:00 at
Caballero Rivero Funeral Home in Little Havana. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to
the Breast Cancer Foundation (www.komen.org) or St. Jude’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) in Rosa
Llano Machado’s name.
