Rhoda Leinoff passed away on October 7 in Boca Raton, Florida. She was 99 years old. Rhoda Segal was born in Brooklyn and as a young girl her family moved to Paterson, New Jersey where her father was in the silk dying business. Rhoda attended P.S. 20, Eastside High School and graduated with a BS from the Stern School of Business at New York University. While still at NYU she went on a blind date with a handsome US Army Captain, Bernie Leinoff. Married in 1946, the newlyweds lived with Rhoda’s parents, Paul and Gertie Segal, until they could afford an apartment of their own.
Rhoda was a homemaker who loved nothing more than raising her four children. She participated in many activities at her children’s schools and at Temple Emanuel where her father was President of the congregation for two terms. As a couple Rhoda and Bernie were wide-ranging world travelers who inspired a similar wanderlust in their children. Rhoda loved golf, knitting and needlepoint. She was also a great cook who loved to host family and friends during the holidays.
Rhoda was preceded in death by Bernie, her husband of 68 years, and she is survived by her four children: Ellen Leinoff Ennis (Michael Ennis) of Dallas,Texas; Andrew Leinoff of Coral Gables; Cathy Newman (Ed) of Miami and David Leinoff (Michelle) of Wayne, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and her sister Sunny Goldenberg of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.

A funeral service for Rhoda will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo (Kendall), 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143.
