Ogilma de la Caridad Barroso y Abela de Marquez passed away February 28, 2020 in Tampa, Florida. Born in Oriente, Cuba, she wasn’t just the life of the party; she was the party. Ogilma and her late husband, “Cuco” Jose Marquez, lived life to the absolute fullest. They enjoyed traveling - collecting souvenirs and memories from around the world - and loved to spend their weekends shopping and dining at their favorite restaurants. Always a classy lady, Ogilma enjoyed and generously shared the finer things in life with friends and family. Her marriage to Cuco brought two families together, and their home was the glue that kept everyone close. Family was everything to her, and it is the absolute love she gave that will be most sorely missed. Her family affectionately knew her as “Tia,” and will fondly remember bustling Noche Buena celebrations and holiday dinners on the back patio of her home in Miami, her famous cortaditos, legendary frijoles negros, her joyful love of Mickey Mouse, the way she lit up when reminiscing about Cuba, and her endearingly crazy personality.
She is survived by her nieces, Maraly Wagner and Marizell Barroso; her nephew-in-law, Robert Wagner; grandnieces, Dorian Wagner and Evyan Wagner Smith; and sister-in-law, Hildelisa Barroso.
