It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved grandson, Michael Elvis Davis. He was born on July 25, 1996, in Miami, Florida, and was the much adored only child of our oldest daughter, Vivian T. Figueras Davis, and the late Charles L. Davis, who died when Michael was 9 years old. On Christmas Eve, Michael was a passenger in a car that was involved in a catastrophic accident; he suffered a traumatic brain injury, and despite heroic medical efforts, he was reunited with his father in heaven on December 28, 2015.
Michael was loved by all who knew him, his parents, grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts, friends, co-workers, teachers and more. He was “un travieso”, a happy, fun-loving kid with a great big heart, who worked hard and played harder. Much like his late father, he was a free-spirit who lived life to the fullest. He was a generous, unique soul who brought sunshine to the lives of so many, and his exuberance and joy for life was unparralled. Everyone who knew him agrees that there was never a dull moment with Michael around.
Michael leaves behind so many people who love him unconditionally, and will never forget him. He touched so many lives, and continues to be a blessing not only to those who knew him, but to those strangers who received the gift of life as a result of the fact that Michael, even at such a young age, had consciously chosen to be an organ donor. Heaven has gained a very special angel in deed. We love you Michael!
Please join our family in celebrating Michael’s life at a viewing in his honor on Sunday, January 3rd, at 5:00 p.m., at Caballero Rivero Sunset, 7355 S.W. 117 Avenue, Miami, Florida. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 4th, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Timothy Catholic Church, where Michael was baptized and received his First Holy Communion. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mercy.
We ask for your continued prayers for him and his mother. Juan Antonio & Vivian Figueras.
