Julia Fabelo, a beloved teacher and dedicated director at Village Montessori's Shenandoah Campus, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the age of 98. Born in Cuba, Julia's life was a testament to hard work, love, and devotion. She immigrated to the United States and established herself as a cornerstone of her community, where she impacted the lives of countless children through her work in education. Julia devoted over four decades to shaping young minds, retiring as the director of the preschool she cherished, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and care that continues to inspire those who knew her.
Julia was an extraordinary woman whose talents extended beyond the classroom. She had a true passion for sewing and cooking, often sharing her beautiful handmade creations and delicious meals with friends and family. Julia’s home was a warm, inviting place filled with the sweet aromas of home-cooked meals and the soft hum of her sewing machine. Her love for pearls was a signature part of her style, symbolizing her grace and timeless elegance. Whether she was cooking a traditional Cuban dish or stitching together a piece of clothing, Julia poured her heart into everything she did.
A woman of deep faith, Julia was steadfast in her religious devotion. She could often be found quietly sitting in prayer, where she took great comfort in reciting the rosary almost every day. Her spiritual life was a central part of who she was, and it guided her throughout her life.
Julia is survived by her son, Roger, and her cherished granddaughter, Sophia Fabelo. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her for her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love. Julia is now reunited with her beloved husband, Oscar Roger Fabelo, who passed away on June 5, 1984. Together again, their spirits will live on in the hearts of their family, friends, and the many lives they touched.
May Julia’s soul rest in peace. ♥
