Jorge was born on August 22, 1951 in Havana, Cuba to Gloria Lopez de Cubas and Jose Manuel Cubas.
A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard Law School, Jorge was an accomplished International Trade Attorney and Partner at the law firm of Baker and McKenzie.
Lover of the arts, the Florida Panthers, the Florida Marlins, travel, small plates, and happy hour, Jorge was the life of the party. He was a dedicated father and loyal friend, and was always willing to listen to anybody, though not necessarily willing to agree with them.
Jorge considered Chicago his true home, having lived there for many years. He loved views of the lake, jogging through Lincoln Park Zoo, attending Cubs and Blackhawks games, and watching fireworks from the Plaza Club.
Jorge is survived by his loving daughter Alexa, siblings Gloria (Alfredo), Roberto (Enid), and Alicia (Derek), nieces and nephews Glorinely, Alfredo Manuel, Carmen Gloria, Cristina, Maricarmen, Meri, Alicita, Diana, Alina, Mercy, Gustavito, Carlos, and Ariel, and many adoring cousins and grandnephews.
